YFCA enhanced healthcare services in Ad Dali' Governorate. In a significant step towards improving healthcare services, YFCA successfully implemented a project that provided essential health services and free medical consultations to the residents of Ad Dali' governorate, with funding from the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) and in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).
The project focused on two key health facilities, namely Alshuhadaa Althaltha Health Facility in Ash Shu’ayb district and Maternity and Childcare Health Center in Al Azariq district. These centers were equipped with the necessary resources to deliver quality healthcare services to the local population. YFCA provided medical supplies such as essential medicines, supplies, consumables, personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, and cleaning and disinfectant supplies. Additionally, the centers were also equipped with essential medical equipment.
The primary objective of this initiative was to provide the Minimum Service Package (MSP) of health services to the residents of Ad Dali' governorate. This package included basic and emergency healthcare, child care, vaccination programs, management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, early diagnosis, medical consultations, and pre- and post-natal care. By offering these comprehensive services, YFCA aimed to improve access to lifesaving healthcare in the targeted districts, in line with the Yemen Minimum Service Package (MSP) guidelines.
Since the project's inception in November 2023, Alshuhadaa Althaltha and Maternity and Childcare Health Centers successfully served a total of 14,797 beneficiaries as of January 2024. This impressive number highlighted the significant impact that YFCA's intervention had on the healthcare landscape of Ad Dali' governorate.
The project was part of a broader Multi-sectoral Emergency Response initiative aimed at supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable groups in Ad Dali' and Shabwah Governorates. By focusing on improving access to essential health services, the project sought to address the urgent healthcare needs of these marginalized communities. This collaboration highlighted the significance of international partnerships in overcoming healthcare challenges in Yemen.
