YFCA, in collaboration with local authorities, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MOSAL), and the Health Offices, recently organized a two-day training program for 15 Community-Based Protection Network (CBPN) members in Ad Dali' and Shabwah governorates. These individuals were selected by MOSAL and the executive unit for their valuable contributions to the community.

The training program, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) in partnership with Diakonie-Katastrophenhilfe (DKH), was an integral part of the Multi-sectoral Emergency Response project. Its purpose was to enhance the skills and knowledge of CBPN members in various areas, including protection mainstreaming, principles, risks, safe referral, psychosocial support, and community participation.

During the four-day intensive training, the CPN members delved into several important topics. They gained a deep understanding of general protection and its underlying principles, explored the complexities of protection risks, and learned about the significance of safe referral practices.

The training program also highlighted the crucial roles and responsibilities of CBPN members in raising community awareness. By instilling a strong sense of purpose and understanding, these individuals are now better equipped to identify cases with protection risks and ensure safe referrals when necessary.

As a result of the training program, the CBPN members have developed enhanced capabilities to conduct impactful awareness sessions within the community. This marks a significant milestone in the continuous efforts to protect and raise awareness in Ad Dali' and Shabwah governorates. YFCA’s commitment remains unwavering in supporting the empowerment of Community Protection Network members and fostering the overall resilience of the communities they serve.
