YFCA successfully established an emergency mobile medical team (EMMT) in the Al Azariq district, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) and in collaboration with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH). The primary objective of this initiative was to deliver life-saving medical assistance to distant regions, as specified in the officially endorsed itinerary plan by the District Health Office. Equipped with necessary medical equipment, supplies, and medicines, the EMMT provided critical primary healthcare services to internally displaced persons (IDPs), vulnerable populations, and individuals in need. Additionally, the team disseminated health messages and enhanced the health knowledge of the targeted population through the distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials.
Striving for inclusivity, the mobile clinic maintained a gender-balanced approach, ensuring that its services aligned with social norms and cultural sensitivities. Since the project's inception in December 2023, the medical team successfully provided assistance to a total of 2,190 beneficiaries until the end of January 2024.
This initiative formed a vital component of the Multi-sectoral Emergency Response program, which aimed to support IDPs and other vulnerable groups in Ad Dali' and Shabwah Governorates in Yemen. Specifically, the project focused on improving access to essential health services in accordance with the Yemen Minimum Service Package (MSP) guidelines.
The collaborative efforts of the YFCA and DKH underscored their unwavering commitment to addressing the urgent healthcare needs of remote communities in Ad Dali' governorate.
