YFCA Provides Safe Shelters for Flood-Affected Communities in Aljawf Gov.
Friday, 15 March, 2024

YFCA, funded by YHF, established and maintained shelters to provide a safe and secure living environment for those uprooted from their homes  as part of “ Provision Of WASH And CCCM Emergency Flood-Response and Preparedness Interventions for the Most Acutely Vulnerable IDPs and Host Communities in Almutoon And Alhazm Districts Of Aljawf Gov.project.
YFCA ensured the proper maintenance and operation of these shelters. Essential amenities, such as the installation of drums and distribution of sandbags around the camps, have been provided to meet the immediate needs of the affected IDPs
To safeguard the camps from further damage caused by floods, barriers (Gabions) have been constructed around the camps and covered the roofs of the camp buildings with tarpaulins and zinc. They have also leveled the roads at the camp entrances and exits, facilitating the movement of people in and out of the camps during this challenging period. These efforts aim to ensure the safety and accessibility of the camps for the flood-affected individuals.
Additionally, YFCA took steps to maintain the water network within the camps, guaranteeing a steady supply of clean water for the residents. By prioritizing the safety, well-being, and dignity of those affected, YFCA is playing a crucial role in providing temporary homes and a sense of stability during these challenging times.
