YFCA implemented a cash-for-work intervention in Al Dale'e Governorate, under the BRIGHTLY project, funded by UKAid, yielding significant achievements. The project paved and surfaced a staggering 1,200 square meters of the Al Kanin Al Arashi Road in Al Dhale'e District. This infrastructure enhancement not only improved transportation but also fostered economic activities and market connectivity within the district. To ensure the sustainability of the road, the intervention also included the construction of 140 meters of retaining walls, effectively protecting against erosion and ensuring the road's durability. Additionally, a 120-meter pedestrian sidewalk was built, prioritizing the safety and convenience of the local community. This initiative provided temporary employment opportunities for the residents of Al Dhale'e Governorate, enabling them to earn income and meet their basic food needs. It significantly alleviated the economic burdens faced by vulnerable families in the region. Furthermore, the cash relief component of the project offered a short-term financial boost to the participants, assisting them in addressing their immediate needs. This injection of funds not only stimulated the local economy but also supported the rehabilitation of vital public infrastructure, promoting productivity and market connectivity. Importantly, the involvement of vulnerable households in the cash-for-work intervention empowered them to acquire valuable experience and basic work skills, enabling them to restore their livelihoods in the long run. By equipping individuals with these essential skills, the initiative aimed to create sustainable pathways to economic recovery and self-reliance. The successful implementation of the project in Al Dhale'e Governorate is a testament to the collaborative efforts between the UKAid and YFCA. Through their joint commitment, this initiative not only improved the resilience of the local community but also provided a glimmer of hope and opportunities for a brighter future in Yemen. As the BRIGHTLY project continued to make a positive impact on the ground, it served as a testament to the power of international partnerships and community-driven initiatives in fostering resilience and driving positive change in conflict-affected regions. Together, we continued to create a better tomorrow for those affected by adversity.
