Ad Dali’, Yemen – In a collaborative effort with the local authorities in Ad Dali’ Governorate, YFCA conducted a comprehensive training session on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and cholera case management. This training, aligned with national guidelines, was held at the Diarrhea Treatment Center (DTC) in De Jalal Maternity and Childcare Health Center, located in Al Azariq district.
This initiative is part of the broader project titled “Integrated and Multisectoral Health and WASH Rapid Response to Cholera Outbreak in Al Azariq District,” funded by Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH). The project aims to provide a swift and coordinated response to cholera outbreaks, ensuring the health and well-being of the local population.
The DHO of Al Azariq district emphasized the importance of such interventions, urging organizations to continue their support in revitalizing the health sector.
The training session, which spanned three days, saw the participation of 16 health workers (HWs) nominated by the District Health Office (DHO) in Al Azariq District, in coordination with the Governorate Health Office (GHO) in Ad Dali’ Governorate. The primary focus was to enhance the skills and capabilities of these health workers, equipping them with the necessary knowledge to effectively manage cholera and watery diarrhea cases.
The DHO extended gratitude to DKH, YFCA, and all stakeholders involved in delivering essential services to the community. This training marks a significant step towards strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in Al Azariq district, preparing health workers to tackle cholera outbreaks more effectively and safeguarding public health.
