Ad Dali’, Yemen – Aug. 2024
In a concerted effort to deliver essential healthcare services to remote areas, Association YFCA, in coordination with the health office in Ad Dali’ governorate, deployed an Emergency Mobile Medical Team (EMMT) in Al Azariq district. This initiative is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).
The EMMT, equipped with basic medical equipment, supplies, and medicines, follows an itinerary plan endorsed by the District Health Office. The team provides primary healthcare services to internally displaced persons (IDPs), vulnerable populations, and those in need. Additionally, the team disseminates health messages and enhances health knowledge among the targeted population through Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials. The medical team ensures gender balance and delivers services in a manner that respects social norms.
In August 2024, the mobile clinic successfully provided services to 717 beneficiaries, offering lifesaving and essential healthcare in distant areas.
This initiative is part of the broader Multi-sectoral Emergency Response project, which aims to support IDPs and other vulnerable groups in Ad Dali’ and Shabwah Governorates. The project seeks to improve access to lifesaving health services in the targeted districts, aligning with the Yemen Minimum Service Package (MSP).
