Shabwah and Ad Dali’, Yemen – August 2024
YFCA conducted 60 awareness sessions across two districts in Shabwah Governorate and three districts in Ad Dali’ Governorate. These sessions, held throughout August 2024, were facilitated by 15 dedicated community protection volunteers, comprising five males and ten females.
This activity is part of the ongoing Multi-sectoral Emergency Response project, which aims to support IDPs and other vulnerable groups in Ad Dali’ and Shabwah Governorates. The project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).
The awareness sessions focused on key protection messages, including the importance of legal documents, adapting to conflicts, and the risks posed by mines. These critical topics were aimed at empowering individuals with the knowledge needed to safeguard themselves, their families, and their communities.
A total of 701 individuals, including women, men, boys, and girls, attended the sessions. The initiative specifically targeted internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities, ensuring that the most vulnerable populations received essential information.
By raising awareness about social issues that threaten individual and community well-being, YFCA continues to play a crucial role in enhancing protection and resilience among Yemen’s most at-risk populations.
