Shabwah & Ad Dali' Governorates –
YFCA successfully conducted 60 protection awareness sessions across five targeted districts in Shabwah and Ad Dali' governorates this September. Led by a dedicated team of 15 community protection volunteers—comprising five males and ten females—this initiative aims to empower local communities through education about their rights and potential threats.
The sessions targeted a total of 710 participants, focusing on crucial protection messages, including:
- Peaceful Coexistence: Encouraging harmony among diverse community groups.
- Dedication and Its Types: Understanding various forms of community commitment.
- The Risks of Mines: Raising awareness about the dangers posed by landmines in the region.
The outreach targeted both internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities, ensuring that vulnerable groups received essential information to help protect themselves and their families.
This initiative is part of the broader Multi-sectoral Emergency Response project, aimed at supporting IDPs and other vulnerable populations in Ad Dali’ and Shabwah governorates. The project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).
By educating individuals about their rights and potential harms, YFCA is equipping communities with the knowledge necessary to safeguard themselves against social issues that pose a threat to their well-being.
The success of these sessions underscores the importance of community engagement in fostering a safer environment and promoting resilience among one of Yemen's most vulnerable populations. YFCA remains committed to enhancing protection awareness and building a more informed and empowered community.
