Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA) conducted a transformative 10-day Small Business Management Training program for 138 young women and men in the Ad Dalea and Shabwa governorates. This initiative is part of the BRIGHTLY Project, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
The training program leverages the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Start Your Business (SYB) curriculum, which is designed to impart crucial business skills. Participants will gain expertise in market assessment, financial management, business planning, and marketing strategies.
Under the guidance of ILO-certified trainers, the young entrepreneurs will develop comprehensive business plans tailored to their unique ideas. Those with viable plans will be awarded start-up grants of $500, providing the necessary capital to launch their small and micro-businesses. This initiative aims to stimulate economic growth and foster sustainable development within their communities.
Moreover, the program promotes the formation of informal livelihood groups, enhancing collaboration among participants and connecting them to essential markets and financial services. This initiative underscores YFCA’s commitment to empowering youth and driving economic development in Yemen.
