YFCA conducted a training on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) to enhance nutritional care practices and combat malnutrition in Aldhale'e District. This training, organized under the "Provision of Life-Saving Nutrition Assistance for the Most Vulnerable Groups" project funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), spanned four days and involved 10 dedicated nutrition workers.
The primary objective of the training was to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to support mothers and caregivers in improving feeding practices for infants and young children. Key topics covered included breastfeeding techniques, complementary feeding, handling challenges related to malnutrition, and counseling strategies to promote healthy nutritional habits.
This initiative is a vital step in addressing the high rates of malnutrition in Aldhale'e and neighboring areas. By focusing on building the capacity of frontline nutrition workers, the training aims to create a sustainable impact on child nutrition outcomes. Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to deepen their expertise and pledged to apply the skills learned in their respective communities.
