YFCA conducted an extensive Therapeutic Feeding Center (TFC) training for eight health workers from the TFC unit of 22 May Hospital. This initiative, part of the "Provision of Life-Saving Nutrition Assistance for the Most Vulnerable Groups" project funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), spanned eight days.
The training aimed to enhance the capacity of health workers in managing severe acute malnutrition (SAM) cases. It covered clinical protocols, nutritional rehabilitation, and best practices in providing lifesaving care. Participants received instruction on patient stabilization, the proper use of therapeutic feeds, monitoring and evaluation, and effective counseling of caregivers to ensure continued care after discharge.
By equipping health workers with specialized skills, this training seeks to strengthen the healthcare system’s ability to provide high-quality treatment to malnourished children. This effort is expected to contribute to reducing mortality rates and improving recovery outcomes in the region.
