YFCA conducted intensive three-day training for 30 health workers from various health facilities in Marib city and Marib valley. The training included staff from the Diarrhea Center, Oral Rehydration Corners, and ambulance drivers, focusing on infection prevention and control methods.
This training is part of the project "Provision of Essential Trauma Lifesaving Health Care Services within the MSP Package to the Most Vulnerable Population of IDPs and Host Community and Responding to Cholera Outbreak," which aims to provide critical lifesaving health services to the most vulnerable populations, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the host community, as well as responding to cholera outbreaks.
The primary objectives of the training were to enhance the knowledge of health workers by increasing their awareness about the importance of infection prevention and control methods. Participants were trained on implementing best practices and effective infection prevention procedures in their workplaces. The training aimed to reduce the spread of infections within health facilities and among patients, thereby improving patient safety by minimizing infection risks. Additionally, the program encouraged knowledge sharing among participants, allowing them to exchange experiences and best practices in infection control. Finally, the training helped health workers develop effective strategies to handle potential infection cases.
This training reflects YFCA’s commitment to improving the quality of healthcare and enhancing patient safety in health facilities, contributing to the reduction of infectious diseases and improving public health in the community.
