YFCA took a significant step towards enhancing agricultural productivity and food security in Ad Dalea governorate by distributing agriculture kits to local farmers in Al Dalea and Sha'ib districts. This initiative is part of the BRIGHTLY project funded by FCDO, which aims to build resilience among vulnerable groups and provide sustainable solutions.
The distribution event, held in coordination with local authorities, was attended by key officials who underscored the importance of providing farmers with the right tools and resources to increase productivity and sustain their livelihoods. Each agriculture kit is designed to equip farmers with high-quality seeds, essential farming tools, and additional materials to enhance productivity.
The kits include high-germination, disease-resistant seeds suitable for various climates, including hybrid seeds for key crops such as vegetables and fruits, high-yield varieties to improve food production, and climate-adaptive selections. Essential farming tools such as durable sickles, hoes, rakes, and pickaxes are provided for soil preparation, planting, and harvesting. Mulching materials are also included to protect soil and retain moisture. Additionally, organic fertilizers are supplied to improve soil fertility, along with water storage solutions such as tanks and hoses, and support for land preparation and tillage.
By providing these kits, YFCA aims to enhance agricultural productivity and food security, improve soil health, and promote sustainable farming practices. This initiative supports small-scale farmers in building resilient livelihoods and strengthens local economies through increased crop yields.
Targeting farmers in the districts of Ad Dalea and Al-Sha'ib, the goal is to enhance the resilience of agricultural communities and achieve food and economic sustainability. By distributing agricultural equipment, YFCA enables farmers to make significant improvements in their farming capabilities, increase their productivity, raise their income levels, and reduce their reliance on direct food aid.
YFCA's commitment to empowering farmers with the necessary resources reflects its dedication to improving agricultural output and contributing to food security in the region.
