YFCA conducted a comprehensive training program on Infection Prevention, Control, and Cholera Case Management for 49 health workers in Hodeidah. , the training aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of health professionals in managing cholera cases and preventing the spread of infections.
This initiative was part of the Emergency Cholera Response in the Bayt Al-Faqih district of Al Hudaydah governorate. It was funded by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) and implemented in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
The training included 19 participants from the Diarrhea Treatment Center (DTC) and 30 from the Oral Rehydration Centers (ORCs) located in Bani Maqbool, Al-Karnah, Al-Saeed, Miyah, and Al-Mharasah health units. The sessions were held across three halls in the city of Hodeidah, ensuring an effective and focused learning environment.
Over the course of three days, participants received in-depth training on various aspects of infection prevention and cholera case management. The program covered essential topics such as hygiene practices, patient care protocols, and community engagement strategies.
Following the training, the health workers began disseminating crucial information and preventive measures within their communities. This proactive approach is expected to significantly improve public health and health outcomes in the targeted areas, reducing the incidence of cholera and other infectious diseases.
The successful completion of this training marks a vital step in strengthening the healthcare system's response to cholera outbreaks and enhancing the overall health resilience of the Bayt Al-Faqih district.
