Ad Dali’, Yemen – 26 March 2025 – Access to safe water is a critical necessity for communities worldwide, particularly in Yemen, where ongoing crises have severely impacted water infrastructure. Addressing this urgent need requires global cooperation and local action. In a significant step toward improving water access, YFCA repaired and upgraded Lngood Water Network in Ash Shu'ayb district of Ad Dali’ governorate.
This initiative is part of the Multi-sectoral Emergency Response project, which supports internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable communities in Ad Dali’ and Shabwah governorates. The project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO) in partnership with Diakonie-Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).
The rehabilitation work included extending an internal water network with 700 meters of 1.5-inch polyethylene piping, establishing 5 water distribution points, and installing 6 valves (1.5-inch diameter) to regulate water flow. Additionally, 3 manholes (100x100x0.7 cm) were constructed to ensure proper maintenance access.
Key Objectives of the Project:
- Enhancing access to safe, sustainable drinking water for residents in the targeted district.
- Reducing the spread of waterborne diseases by improving water quality and distribution.
YFCA’s efforts underscore the vital need for continued humanitarian support in Yemen, where water scarcity and poor infrastructure contribute to health crises. By strengthening water systems, the project not only meets immediate needs but also builds long-term resilience for affected communities
