YFCA implemented an intensive training program for healthcare workers from Al-Ghareef Health Unit in Al-Wazi'iyah District, Taiz Governorate. This initiative was conducted as part of the "Providing Essential and Integrated Health and Nutrition Services to IDPs and Most Vulnerable Populations" project, generously funded by Concern Worldwide.
The training, designed to align with international standards, comprised two key components. The first segment, held from February 16 to 18, focused on the Minimum Service Package (MSP) and the management of communicable diseases. Participants gained essential skills in delivering primary healthcare services, including reproductive health, nutrition, and immunization, while strengthening their ability to detect and prevent infectious diseases.
The second segment, conducted from February 13 to 15, centered on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) as well as cholera case management. This segment equipped healthcare workers with advanced protocols for epidemic containment, emphasizing effective cholera response strategies and safeguarding healthcare facilities and communities from infectious outbreaks.
In line with the Localization approach, the training actively involved staff from local health offices as observers, ensuring knowledge transfer and fostering long-term healthcare system resilience. By empowering frontline workers, YFCA aims to elevate the quality of care at Al-Ghareef Health Unit, directly benefiting the local population.
