In a significant step towards enhancing humanitarian efforts, YFCA initiated its first introductory workshop for the "Humanitarian System Transformation through Local Humanitarian Leadership" project. This is part of the ongoing efforts to create a more risk-aware and safer humanitarian environment.
The workshop featured a multi-stakeholder risk assessment and analysis, utilizing a risk-sharing framework methodology. The participating entities encompassed various humanitarian actors, including UN agencies, local organizations from different governorates, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour, alongside international organizations and donors.
The goal of the workshop was to foster an environment for learning and collaboration around risk-sharing practices. This activity marks the project's first step in assessing and analyzing risks among multiple stakeholders, employing a designed tool for focus group discussions as an initial phase of a data collection process.
The data collection will continue to evaluate and analyze the application of the risk-sharing principle among participating entities through subsequent visits and workshops throughout the first year of 2025. This activity is part of a three-year project, running from 2025 to 2027, funded by Oxfam Novib.
